Logan, I will try to come on here, and I love and miss all of you! but I'm not so much of a "blogger" as you Logs. Anyway, my summer so far has been pretty relaxing, I've worked a little at a gymnastics school, and have loved xa 757, wave worship, and the new pastor at my church. Every week I feel like I'm leaving with a new perspective or a new goal or desire and I'm so excited about that because I was a little worried about not being fed at home like I am at school but that definitely isn't happening. Prayer-wise, if you could just pray for my sister, she had to get her appendix removed on Thursday at JMU and my parents went up there to be with her. She's home now but is going back either tomorrow or Tuesday until August so just prayer for healing and her roommates that have to take care of her ;) That's pretty much it for right now, other then it being schorchingly hottttt here. I can't wait to see some of you tomorrow night and I want to leave you with a verse I really like and that I think says a lot about how great our salvation is: "Letus hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful" Hebrews 10:23

Love you girls, Amy

hello there!

hey loves,

So it seems our blog is struggling! Let's remedy that shall we?

So, my summer is going quite fine. Pretty uneventful so far. I've been at home for a few weeks now, just hanging out with friends. My bestfriend is getting married so we've been doing a bunch of stuff for that and I just threw the Bridal Shower this past weekend. It was so fun but I felt like a real grown up surrounded by women and being asked questions like 'whose next?' But, it was lovely.

Some highlights of my summer include: XA757 coregroup, it's been going for a few weeks now and I think everyone's loved getting to catch up and see each other; Wave church, I've now gone twice and I have to say I love it. Worship is one of the things I miss most from school and their worship and messages are like nourishment to my soul. It's been awesome so far and I can't wait for more; third, ballet class, I started a class last week and I loved it. It's something that makes me happy and I haven't had time for it at school so I plan on taking full advantage of my time to do it this summer.

Anyways, how are your summers going? Please update us, share prayer requests, etc. And if you're around me, then let's get together! Others, let's chat and catch up!

Also, I started a blog of my own, check it out, I feel like you will find common themes from coregroup as God keeps bringing up the same things again and again until (hopefully) I finally get it and believe it. :) loganoyler.blogspot.com

Miss you all and love each of you!

Summer change...

Hey chicassss. Let me first start out by saying that I miss all of you like crazy and the 757 is not the same without core group lovin'. I hope everyone is having a safe and awesome summer.

I've come to realize that a lot of stuff has changed back home since high school. My friends here in Poquoson are A LOT different than they used to be. I've changed a lot as well, but in a totally different way. I really want to let them know how I've changed without shoving it in their faces or making the conversation all about me, since it should be about what God has done/can do for us. Basically, right now I'm picturing the calendar Beth Moore talked about in Breaking Free, the one with all the footprints. I feel like there'd be a lot of days on my calendar with just one set of footsteps. I'm a little unsure of how to continue my walk with God back home, since I really just started end of first semester.

In addition to that, I've just had my consultations for my jaw surgery. The procedure sounds kind of intense and I have to be on a liquid diet for 6 WHOLE WEEKS afterward. I'm nervous about the whole thing, especially coming out of anesthesia, seeing as I have a not so high threshold for pain. If y'all could pray for me about this surgery, I'd really appreciate it.

On the bright side of things, I just found out that my brother will be coming home from Iraq in July, not October as originally planned. Again, if you all could just pray for his safety in his last few months there and his trip home, I'd be really grateful.

I hope everyone is having an awesome summer so far and that God is doing some sweet stuff for you. I miss you all so much and can't wait see the 757 kids at bible study.

Much love!

Afffriiiicaa

Hello everyone,
I am leaving in 2 hours to go to D.C. to leave for Africa. I'm so excited yet there are obviously some things that are worrying me. Some things in particular that you guys can be praying for are food (I'm a vegetarian and very picky and I'm really worried that I won't get enough food and nutrition), safety (we are going to some dangerous places), and most importantly, God's hand on this trip. I won't get back til June 15th but after that I will let you guys know how it went. Thanks for a great semester with you all and I will hopefully see some of you 757ers after my trip. Pray for me!! Thanks!

summer!!!

Hey beautifuls!!!

It's summertime!!! Let's get this blog rolling again!

Love you!!!

Sunday, January 13, 2008

well girls, it seems our blog has come to a pause this past week... and we will all be heading back to school these next few days... so, i think it'd be cool if we could continue to use this blog at school, even though we do see each often, i think it'd be a good way to continue coregroup and mnl discussions and just share about what God is teaching you, because sometimes it's hard for everyone to share at coregroup with our time limit... so.. let me know what you all think of that..

also, annoucement, we will be having some sort of coregroup thursday night so keep your schedule open! and, depending if anyone has schedule changes this semester, we could move the time of coregroup slightly so that everyone can still come... and please feel free to invite friends to coregroup! the start of the semester is a perfect time for newcomers to join!!

love you all and see you in a few days!

prayer request:

hey friends, i need y'all to do me a favor. you all know of my friend jess, or at least you know of her since i've mentioned her more than a few times at coregroup. she's going through some family stuff and i really need all of you to lift her up in your prayers to God right now. the cliftnotes version of the story is that she's been dating a guy and she kept it a secret from her parents b/c she knew they would hate him for their daughter since he's not taiwanese like them. well, they found out about him so they've been lecturing her and she's been crying for the past week. i just got off the phone with her and it hurt me so much to hear her say how exhausted she is and how sick she is of fighting with her parents. she wants to just be done with it all, but at the same time doesn't want to give up on the guy.

friends, i need y'all to pray about many things: 1. that she will stop worrying about this whole situation. i mean, i know that's easier said than done, but she has no control over it; only God does. 2. that she will try and see her parents side of this argument and they'll see her's. they really do love her. 3. i hear in her voice every time we talk how terrified she is that any moment, her boyfriend will call her and break up with her because he doesn't think the relationship is worth fighting all the time with her parents. she is holding on to him so tightly; i just wish she could see that he's not everything, if you know what i mean [wink-wink]. 4. and finally that God will give me the words to confort her. all i want to do is share His love with her, i just feel like i don't know how.

thanks so much, guys, and sorry for this heavy post. enjoy your last week, and logan, be safe in the dominican!
